Have you ever heard someone go off, and their words are so perfectly chosen, so well said in that moment, that you’re in awe? You think, “There’s nothing to add here,” and you applaud in your head.

That’s exactly this. Pure perfection. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Schumer can be removed from his Dem leadership role this week - 23 Dems (and/or independents) just have to vote to depose him

And they should, given this is his fault.
This is a lovely sentiment but Schumer isn't up for re-election until 2028 and he knows this. At which point he will be 77/78. There's no mechanism to recall a sitting senator AFAIK.
Let’s be clear: Chuck Schumer is the one ending this shutdown, no matter how the votes read.

Chuck Schumer is claiming that he’s voting no, while letting other Senators (Fetterman, Kaine, King, etc) do HIS dirty work.

He must be removed from his leadership & primaried for the sake of this country

After this week, I’m thinking about scars you can see—and the ones you can’t. We must choose non-violence and protect our kids from a politics that rewards cruelty. #Itsthefuckingguns #endgunviolence

The motivation of the man who shot Charlie Kirk isn't clear (although he's probably mentally unstable--duh). What is clear is it was another example of American gun violence.

It is possible to hold both of these things true at the same time:

1) political violence is never an appropriate choice in a civilized society

2) Charlie Kirk’s dream is to create exactly the kind of society he currently lives in, as spoken from his own mouth

Charlie Kirk has apparently been shot in the neck.

Praying for his recovery and acknowledging that prayers alone will not stop gun violence. Contrary to his claim that more guns make us safe, the science and facts tell us that we are safest when we have comprehensive gun safety legislation.

The attack on Charlie Kirk is disgusting, vile, and reprehensible.

In the United States of America, we must reject political violence in EVERY form.

The details surrounding the abhorrent shooting of Charlie Kirk remain unclear, but what is crystal clear is that political violence is a cancer.

This violence must have no safe harbor and must be condemned in all its forms and in all corners.

I am looking for congressional leaders to come out quickly and forcefully against this. We need unequivocal opposition. We need theatric demonstrations of defiance. We need to see leadership. Trump will steamroll us all if we display weakness. Where are our leaders?

Last month, I wrote about the escalating use of violent rhetoric and how that rhetoric puts lives at risk.

Rather than pause for reflection, this is what they chose.

This is what that escalation looks like.

Shame on those who fuel violence with their words.
