Intro post:
Fun - #TTRPG, played lots of DnD but soon to rotate in to DMing so expect a lot about that.
Professional - #DataScience & #Accountant python, excel, DBs.
Me - Grew up in poverty in Thatchers Britain and wherever I am now that has informed my politics. Never trust a Tory.
Years ago @raynewman.bsky.social told me about an article he'd read, I think in Wired, about remote teledildonics. These days that's called vibe coding.

I'll see me self out.

In this updated version Sam Altman owes Jensen Huwang a sandwich, but luckily Jensen borrowed one from the bank he can give him to pay him back and now he has two sandwiches...
The person of the year is just outside of the frame, sawing through the girder.
I guess it's fitting that it's a reimagined, worse version of someone else's artwork

You reap what you sow. Years ago now I sowed a number of #TTRPG this month 4 of them have popped off and I have been charged for shipping.

And I paid for the vast majority of it ages ago. What a December!

Some heavy expectation management from the @salvageunion.bsky.social crowd funder, meant I opened the pledge manager with a certain amount of trepidation.

Postage was £12.5.

It's a great time to not be American.

I don't even listen to the John Robbins and Ellis James podcast (it's podcasts in general, it's been excellent every time I've heard some) but I have the Cymru connection theme tune stuck in my head. Again.

There is an element of tragedy of the commons to the genAI phase. If your company can do away with all it's staff you'll make a huge amount of money... if every other company still pays it's staff so they can buy from you. If every company does it, you don't have anybody left to buy your product.

Well my copy digital copy of Terminus by @irny.bsky.social is here and it's a beaut.

When I backed it I paid to name one of the characters after my dad. A priest. Father Alan Newman. Yeah he really was, maybe not biologically but in all the important ways. 1/

I'm told I spelled Ronan's name wrong, well after what he did to that song he should change his name and think about what he did so I'm just giving him a leg up really.
Listening to a Christmas one hit wonders thing from the BBC and they had a version of "The War is Over" by the pop idol people. It was dreadful. People who like that song, are the kind of people who are ok with GenAI.

See also Ronan Keeting an his abominable version of The Fairy Tale of New York.
