AirDrop is honestly more of a lock in for me than iMessage so this is huge. The biggest hurdle I have when I'm using my Ubuntu Surface tablet is when I want to move things back and forth to my phone. Moving video quickly from my phone to laptop is part of my daily @cisoseries.bsky.social workflow.

Hearing @sarahjeong.bsky.social bring up DC++ on Version History and remembering it as THE file sharing app at CWRU. Everyone had fiber to their dorm and so everyone had the exact same music library. It was insane because people would just share their entire hard drive and put it on the network.

I know it’s nothing new but it’s remarkable to see both Apple and Microsoft selling us AI products and functionality that either don’t exist or are completely misleading. Apple deserves way more scorn for marketing a Siri that didn’t exist but this is barely better www.theverge.com/report/82244...

It's kind of amazing that transcoding 4 40-minute video streams from Restream is like a minor annoyance to my CPU. Took about 6 minutes total for all 4.

We talked about this on the @cisoseries.bsky.social Department of Know, AI is going to give us all this time back except for all the people actually working in the AI industry doesn’t really add up
Hard to believe that a few years ago there was genuine mainstream discourse about tech companies shifting to 4-day work weeks while today companies are bragging about “AI productivity gains” yet it’s all about 996.

100% for printing more photos and dye sublimation will give great quality. But this “integration” of the printer does not give me the nostalgia vibes that seemingly every other instant camera lives on. Also the paper price is in line with bulk Instax mini film.

The grips do look kinda awesome.

Anyone out there using a Qualcomm-based Windows PC for their daily driver? Curious about the experience. Had that big launch last year and then seemed like crickets. Which means they either work so well that it isn't worth commenting on or no one is actually using them. #tech
