This was my first thought when I heard the Kennedy center news—what about the musicians? Now’s a great time to support the NSO.
I fault no artist for pulling out of performances w/ the NSO at the Kennedy Center because everyone has to do what they need to do.
But the NSO's CBA is up soon and that orchestra will probably cease to exist very soon because of all of this.
Every cancellation plays directly into the hands...

Just experienced the most intense tear gassing of my life by federal officers outside the ICE facility in Portland where marchers gathered. There was no fast exit as they indiscriminately threw loads of gas and flash bangs. Children were in the crowd screaming. @oregoncapitalchronicle.com

I am in Portland OR. We had a peaceful march here, adults, kids, babies in strollers, no vandalism, no violence. ICE agents fired tear gas and flash bangs into the crowd from the roof, gassing the entire crowd including children and babies.

I just got tear gassed along with thousands of union members, many of whom had their families with them. Federal agents at the ICE facility tear gassed children. We must abolish ICE, DHS, and we must have prosecutions. I expect to see enforcement of our city code prohibiting the use of tear gas.

The more I think about it, the more I’m convinced the Democrats have to push their hand immediately. The parallels with the delays and subsequent failures after January 6th are blaring warning signs about what will happen if they don’t go after the issues with ICE and CBP at the root RIGHT NOW.
