Well #Zardoz was a lot stranger than I remember it being. Glad I picked up a copy and rewatched it though. Definitely a film that wouldn’t get made today.

Planning to watch either #Zardoz or #Outland this-evening. Both Sci-Fi films starring Sean Connery. Neither has the best reputation, but I remember watching them on TV in the early 90's as a Teen and enjoying them. Haven't watched them since, but picked up cheap copies recently.

Started the day off intending to read all day. Got to lunchtime with a splitting headache and had to stop. So I've been watching the start of #StargeteSG1 Season 8 and #StargateAtlantis Season 1 this-afternoon.

Vegan restaurants are closing, RFK Jr is sounding the drum for carnivores, and the protein cult is bigger than ever. But eschewing animal products helps me ward off a sense of impotence – and despair, writes Emma Beddington

Excellent article from Cory Doctorow about AI, well worth taking the time to read, and may relieve some anxiety about its current proliferation.

Watching the first episode of #RedDwarf, amazing what this series became after this.

Just finished #Stargate SG1 season 7. Not a fan of that ending, felt too rushed and easy to defeat Anubis (assuming he didn’t escape off camera) and to then leave it as they did with Jack…. I know Stargate #Atlantis kicks in very soon, but still. Will pickup on Season 8 soonish, but not today.

Watching some #Stargate SG1. Working through to the end of season 7, just 3 episodes to go.

Just finishing off a rewatch of the #Hobbit films. I always feel a bit disappointed with these. Unlike the #LotR films something feels as if it’s missing at their heart. They’re still good though, even with their flaws.

Just watched the first two episodes of #StarTrek Starfleet Academy. An interesting start, it’s definitely aiming for the teen viewers, so I’m a tad outside the target audience being in my late 40s. But there’s enough here to make it an enjoyable watch and lots of Easter eggs to spot for us fans.

Sanity cull of my follow list carried out. That’s for my sanity, not anyone else’s! 🤪

Time to delve back into some History of Middle Earth before I call it a day. (reading volume 5 The Lost Road and other writings)

Just putting on the original and best #Ghostbusters film after watching the latest one yesterday.

Just finished reading #JudgeDredd The Complete Case Files 01. It’s been an interesting read to see these very early Dredd stories and compare them to what’s being written now. These early stories are basic but still fun, however Walter the Wobot is really annoying, glad he is eventually dropped.

Sounds like the local shooting range is getting a lot of use this morning. Better them shooting there, than at the defenceless animals in the fields.

Not sure why John has made up that I have a "first preference."

In fact I've repeatedly said - including to the Independent - it's not my role to pick the future Labour leader.

I'm focused on growing the Green Party.

Not convinced people should be allowed to make things up and publish them....
Zack Polanski thinks he can dictate who should be Labour leader www.independent.co.uk/voices/ed-da...

A dominant theme of Hitler's speeches in the late 1930s is that Germany was surrounded by threats. These threats were imaginary: it was Nazi Germany that threatened other nations. But they were used to justify pre-emptive attacks. Trump is following this script.

The sooner X is banned in the UK the better. The cesspool he’s made Twitter into shouldn’t be allowed to exist in a civilised society. A lot of what’s posted on X wouldn’t be allowed in most countries in any other media, why should it be allowed online?
