Yesterday the President fell asleep, yet again, during a televised fake Cabinet meeting staged so that each of his courtiers could heap praise on him, praise for which he couldn't stay conscious. He woke up just long enough to spew racism. Why is this not being treated as an emergency? >

Feel like I'm going mad. The Budget's 'headroom' is based on frankly irresponsible and wildly optimistic claims about what Labour will do in the final year of the forecast, and on ignoring a bunch of upward pressures on spending, and the claim is that she was being exaggeratedly *pessimistic*?
Suggestion Rachel Reeves exaggerated fiscal pressures is absurd
Chancellor was instead far too optimistic about public finances and government’s ability to secure cuts

BREAKING: “The idea that leaving the EU was the answer to all our cares and concerns has clearly been proved wrong."

Keir Starmer says that "wild promises were made" about Brexit.

He adds: "The same argument is now being made about the European Convention on Human Rights"

Budget hits the young in England

From 2027, repayment threshold for student loans frozen at salary of £29,385. Due to fiscal drag repayments will be sooner.

Graduates face 37% marginal tax rate

By 2030 minimum wage likely to be £29k. Graduates on min wage will be forced to repay loans. Why?
The government’s budget is simply managing decline
The budget does little to improve living standards or facilitate sustained economic growth

Nope, we can’t now go back to “just reporting news”, because of the huge number of MP and journalists who spent the last decade angrily explaining that the Labour Party is rammed with self-indulgent wankers who disastrously want to ensure children are fed, to show off how pure and virtuous they are.

Nathan Gill’s conviction and sentencing blew the lid off Reform’s Russian involvement. The sooner Starmer announces an investigation the better.
