Doesn't seem stupid at all. I could def see cities issuing bonds to do that instead of buying buses.
I also think it'd be an interesting investment opportunity. For the right price (and if I could), I would buy a waymo and lease it out to a rideshare service.

I think it'd be interesting to build a SBOM for every OSS project, and then a tool to keep it updated.

Agreed that its a friendly read.
A lot of what I know about China is based on Michael Pettis, Peter Zeihan and William Greider (from his work decades ago). It is eye-opening for me to read someone even-handed. (I wouldn't call him a China bull, but he seems fair so far.)
