My previous PC was an evolution. It started as WinXP, then upgraded to Win7, 8, and 10. I still have internet shortcuts from the 1990s, and some STILL WORK, which blows my mind. Old docs, to-do lists, project archives, early digital camera pictures (640x480 fancy!)

I find Digital Archaeology quite fascinating, which drives my retro tech hobbies. This weekend I find myself starting a project on digging through my own digital history while fixing an old PC and saving its content. My old digital life (15-30 years ago) was interesting and archiving it is strange.

Migrated to a Fairphone 6. Pretty useful (expensive import tariff) phone, even de-Googled. Looking back on my previous LG V60 and LG V20 phones, I am saddened that LG left the mobile market because their hardware was just fantastic in the V20. I would buy a V20 with a modern CPU and radio inside.

For fucks sake. It's brand fucking new. The interior of the car smells like burnt electronics, but the car itself says nothing is wrong... only the monthly emailed report says there's a problem and schedule service. Goddamn it @hyundaiusa.com Is this going to be one of those "no parts available"?

Just came off of an exhausting but beautiful cruise to Alaska, finally got to rest in my own bed for one night, and now I need to fly for a work trip. woo. *sigh* I'm going to be dead by the end of the week, but at least I have nice photos.

Building Linux for the Luckfox Pico and Lyra microcontroller boards, in anticipation of my PicoCalc arriving soon. They are Rockchip single-chip Linux boards in a Pico form factor, so I wanted to see how they'd perform in the Calc. Pico ($6) has 1c/64MBR/uSD, Lyra ($10) has 4c/128MBR/256MBF.
