I’m at a racial justice conference in STL and so far the most socially awkward thing I have said or done, judged by the awkward silence, was say that if Gavin Newsom or Kamala Harris were the ‘28 candidates I would rather jump off the Arch than vote for either.

I mean, the Arch is RIGHT THERE!

Real question: Why would we still be using hemp-derived THC when marijuana is now legal? Why go through the process of using solvents to retrieve THC from hemp and not the plant directly?

Why is the hemp industry still controlling the production and process? www.startribune.com/federal-shut...
Federal shutdown deal could kill Minnesota’s hemp-derived THC market
A spending bill passed by the U.S. Senate would essentially ban hemp-based THC products nationwide.

I am in STL for Race Forward’s Cultural Week of Action, and also an opportunity to visit my mom.

Every time I come back here, 2x a year or so, more homes and buildings are boarded up.

Some have been that way for a decade. Or more!

Is there something you really want to learn this fall/winter? A skill? A trade? A hobby? More knowledge about something—history, poetry, political/justice movements, plants, biology… whatever?

#2: I'd bet good money that, behind the scenes, Amy Klobuchar was orchestrating & approving this cave-in. Like Chuck Schumer, she didn't vote for it, (They only needed 8 votes and had them.) but she was part of the group that had been planning this for a few weeks. Amy acts centrist; votes rightward

Note to fellow Boomers in Minneapolis upset about the Senate Democrats caving yet again:

#1: This is precisely why The Youngs have embraced the DSA and why you should the same. Or at least quit demonizing young Dems who are looking for big change. The DSA caucus is the future.

# 2....

I am at a Walgreens in a particularly kinda shitty part of St. Louis where I grew up (south city) and not a single thing is locked up. And it is open till 9pm.

Now I gotta know if the lockdown on all things is a Mpls thing? Like some franchise owner shit?

A reminder that if you’re thinking about Edmund Fitzgerald to also imagine the at least 10k fully preserved bodies floating in the giant space belly of Lady Lake Superior.
My body: Go to sleep.

My brain: Not now, honey, I have to learn about about the more than 10,000 preserved dead bodies are floating in the depths of Lake Superior like it’s outer space. www.unboundroots.com/lake-superio...
Lake Superior: A Watery Graveyard
Lake Superior is home to hundreds of sunken ships on its cold, dark, rocky bottom. Are ships the only victims lying in this watery graveyard?

I am retaining water, which has never been a thing for me, so I just thought my face was sort of puffy because I am tired.

Anyone have any experience with this? What caused it? How did you address it?

It’s not super obvious, but for me it is definitely noticeable?

Who called it an administrative stay issued by the U.S. Supreme Court late Friday night and not a SNAP judgement?

The sound of a mouse in my house is disturbing annual event that triggers every aspect of fear and avoidance in me, making me scared to walk into my kitchen until spring.

Ughhhhh. Send help?

I will be at a three-day race equity conference next week and I am already pre-tired from the anxiety I have around engaging with humans for three days!

I am sure it will be fantastic and the human connections right now are so needed.

But as a home body my body is already tired 😴

Sure, I am a “helpless sleeping person with insensitive skin,” but the thing that will make me throw you to the moon is this list telling me what do.

Does anyone know if or what MPS is planning to do with the free breakfasts and lunches if MFT strikes next week?

With SNAP frozen, it’s going to be a double-hit for so many families if the free school meals disappear.

Will every MPS have the meals available? Anyone know?

One thing that stuck out to me this summer in the mayoral race was from a conversation I had with a handful of young-ish Somali men.

They said they preferred Frey bc he was “done so much for them,” and that Fateh “wasn’t from here.”

He isn’t “Minnesotan Somali.”
