BUT maybe I am giving this dude WAY too much credit and he really is just a yell-y, self-satisfied white dude comic that I find exhausting and uninteresting and why I have avoided anything he has done previously? I dunno!
November 13, 2025 at 11:10 PM
But if it is just another white dude whacky "cringe" comedy with unbelievable and ridiculous whacky moments, then I am not into it. HA. Like I think Mike & Jeff are just imagined parts of himself--his id, ego, superego, or whatever--that he brought to life in his psychosis.

I am sort of obsessed with it if it is what I think it is? If it is this dark and hilarious "office/family" comedy within and around a man's deeply dark and sort of terrifying psychosis that we are inside of, then it is some of the best TV I have seen!
November 13, 2025 at 11:10 PM
I know I have never seen anything like it. And if I am wrong about The Chair World being his psychosis we are coming along inside of, and it is just some sort of "offbeat whacky moments/coincidence cringe comedy," I will be wholly disappointed!
November 13, 2025 at 11:03 PM
And it is DARK AF. To think of it as psychosis, this man making these random connections to things in ways that take over his entire existence is both exhausting and terrifying.

And then the "work/family" world is the dark comedy. Where I find myself SCREAM LAUGHING. Like when Douglas came back!
November 13, 2025 at 11:03 PM
The "chair" world is his psychosis, perhaps. A hallucination. Or a world others can't see. No one in that world he talks to is ever seen by anyone else. In the bar scene, where he got in a fight, the mean dude's viewpoint shows Robinson not talking to anyone else, for example.
November 13, 2025 at 11:03 PM
So, I don't really like Tim Robinson because the only thing I have really seen is him just sort of screaming as comedy. BUT I am kind of obsessed with this bizarre show! It feels like two divergent realities/shows.

Three more days to go, so I guess we will have to wait and see what other things or songs come out of my filter-less mouth!
November 13, 2025 at 7:36 PM
Ok, so I think he is in psychosis or some other bizarre universe where he is the only person who sees his new friends, and everything in the “chair” world is a different, very dark reality and the other world is this absurdist comedy on capitalism.

Like two divergent realities/shows.

Someone! Have you watched the CHAIR COMPANY!

I guess my question is also, are they hurdles there *because* of the power of the hemp industry lobby? Have they made it more difficult for cannabis? And is this the actual problem? The power of the hemp workaround? www.politico.com/news/2024/05...
Hemp and marijuana go to war
The farm bill has pitted the allies against each other over how to handle intoxicating products.

Like, I get the federal hurdles. But what I am trying to wrap my head around is now that MN finally legalized marijuana sales (though very poorly), how much of its slow rollout is due to the hemp industry power vs something else?
November 12, 2025 at 6:36 AM
But how much of this was due to the Farm Bill and the hemp industry and lobbying that was the result of it, especially here in MN, versus other states that planned for and partnered with marijuana growers & producers?
November 12, 2025 at 6:34 AM
My Q is why would hemp-derived THC still be the biggest market here when marijuana is legal and there is no need for extracting it from hemp. Hemp-derived THC was a "legal workaround," so why is it still such a huge part of the industry when MN has moved to legal marijuana?
November 12, 2025 at 6:24 AM
And people are freaking out about the proposed ban instead of asking this important question and getting angry at Ellison who also proposed the *same thing* instead of asking this question.

Man. Everything just gets dirtier and dumber every day.
November 12, 2025 at 3:12 AM
Thank a lobbyist, I guess! And rich people.
November 12, 2025 at 3:09 AM
I guess the liquor lobby has more money than the hemp lobby but the hemp lobby/big ag has more money than the marijuana lobby… and we know the fed govt is for sale to the biggest bidder and I guess MN is for sale to the second-biggest? hempsupporter.com/wp-content/u....

Right, but why is the hemp industry still controlling and/or thwarting what would be the marijuana industry in MN?
November 12, 2025 at 3:00 AM
I have a medical card, thankfully, so the only time I really partake in the hemp-derived thc is through the drinks.

I was looking forward to actually enjoying real cannabis drinks at bars and not hemp-derived THC… but I guess that was never the plan anyway?
November 12, 2025 at 2:51 AM
Like, if shutting down THC from hemp guts MN cannabis industry, then do we really have a cannabis industry or just a shitty workaround controlled and manipulated by the hemp industry?
