Sen. Ruben Gallego: "Ashli Babbitt was a traitor. She was a traitor to this country. She was part of a violent mob that tried to overthrow our democracy...She didn't die protecting our country. She died trying to turn it down...She wasn't a martyr. She was and is a traitor."

Compton, CA: A masked, heavily-armed man wearing body armor jumped out of a SUV today to kidnap a local resident.

He forgot to put the vehicle in park, causing it to roll down the street damaging other cars. He jumped in the vehicle (which had no platess) and drove off without identifying himself.

My kids know an American flag when they see one – but they don't yet know all that it represents.

When they're old enough, here is what I'm going to tell them:

Shameful. Heart breaking.
WATCH: “I WAS AN INTERPRETER IN AFGHANISTAN FOR 3 YEARS.”

ICE grabs a man whose name they don’t even know at his immigration hearing, shackles him, expedites his removal.

Q: Why would anyone ever help our military again? — Trump is endangering and weakening our military.

NGC 4395 is a nearby low surface brightness spiral galaxy located about 14 million light-years from Earth in the constellation Canes Venatici. Captured Thursday night before the weather changed.

Pinwheel galaxy. Lovely stretch of clear, dark nights this past week.

Rough itelescope data so ended up doing pixel-level editing in gimp which I almost never do (because I'm too lazy). But result is a pretty nice flame and horse head nebula. Original image was huge, like 6000 pixels wide, scaled down for the socials, to better hide defects 🤣

The Rosette Nebula (Caldwell 49) is an emission nebula and open cluster in the constellation of Monoceros.
18x200 (windy!) seconds on this last night. Compare it to last year's Rosette image (on IG) to see what a difference more/better data can make.

LDN 1235, the Shark Nebula, is a dark/reflection nebula in the constellation Cepheus.

I imaged and processed this data last autumn but never got around to posting it. Pretty faint, I'm sure I could do better with a few nights of data, but I'm impatient and the weather is dreadful lately.

Wide field data from Cygnus Loop, a large supernova remnant.

I'm image processing this morning instead of any number of self-destructive things that comes to mind after watching the news. But the day is young, maybe I'll get to that later.
