IT/AV guy who predates the internet and grew up with technology (for better *and* worse, lol).
Fair warning: I post *extremely* infrequently because I am a curmudgeon (love that word), an atheist & certified Internet Hermit!

Also, I swear. Like, a lot.

I've belatedly realized that I'm always liking or reposting cat pictures, yet no one here has seen MY cats! Let's fix that.

Here's Bella (full name Arabella F. Wigglebotham - we just call her "Mrs. W"), provided to us by the CDS when she showed up at our back door, pregnant and ravenous:

Today, the misanthropy has really got to me, so for purely spiteful reasons let me just reiterate for the record:

The Abrahamic religions (yes, all 3 of them) are the useless, intolerant, bigoted, misogynist, hateful and anti-humane delusions of ignorant Mesopotamian herdsmen and farmers.

I’m in search of book recs for my niece. Criteria:

- Science fiction
- Female lead(s)
- Has an audiobook

Bonus points for space opera and queer books. She doesn’t mind if the books aren’t super recent (she loved the Honor Harrington series).

A Black man was killed by ICE (off duty) in Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve. And like Renée Good, he was an American citizen. But most people have not heard about Keith Porter.

I need y’all to realize this. Black people experience this lack of visibility all the time when it comes to being victims.

So I've been rewatching Ken Burns' "The American Revolution" on my local PBS affiliate (shouts to WSKG!).
Last night's installment, "In Order To Be Free" is a horribly depressing reminder that human nature hasn't evolved AT ALL since the 18th century.

If so can you please explain how you sleep at night, knowing that your party is rapidly devolving into a fascist nightmare?

Today I am so ashamed and despondent about being a lifelong citizen of the United States that I fear the only solution left to us is a violent armed response to the jack-booted federal thugs who seem all too willing to treat their fellow citizens as targets.

And I don't even OWN a firearm...

As I see it, the fundamental cognitive dissonance faced by hardcore social conservatives is:
while they understand that 1st Amendment "free speech" means they can spout whatever intolerant hateful racist bullshit they like in public, they think that *also* means they can't be ridiculed for it.

Shitter thought for Today:

It's really worrisome to me that all the American conservatives I've met seem to believe that crimes against property are somehow *always* worse than crimes against people.

You know, people - like, actual fucking HUMAN BEINGS
