But like. What’s Lore’s motivation? Does Sela have anything going on besides wanting to destroy the Federation? What about Duras or his sisters? The Borg?

Oh for sure! Even at the time when I had a PSP I immediately got it hacked and a bunch of ROMs on it lol

I’ve never really gotten off the physical media train, at least not entirely, but I think there’s a clear sense generally that the Digital Streaming Future is a lie and that it has gotten markedly worse and more nakedly predatory in the last few years

And if I have a Nintendo 3DS, and I have a 3DS cartridge or even something installed on my system, it’s not going to suddenly shuffle to another service or just get delisted entirely

Certainly the PSP has an online store and you can download stuff and I’m sure there are games that have microtransactions, but not nearly to the degree you see now

Say what you will about the PlayStation Portable but my copy of SECRET AGENT CLANK will not try to get me to spend $100 on the chance to unlock a gold skin for my character

I think it may also be the case that depending on the tech there is an allure to a device that largely requires physical media on an environment where media shuffles constantly if it’s not airlocked entirely, and much of it is stuffed with monetization hooks

My favorite bit about those movies is the deleted scene from the end of the second one that not only reveals Peter’s dad is alive, but gives *him* The Line they didn’t let Martin Sheen say in the first one
