this world is a nightmare
One of the less damaging but still pernicious impacts of this bubble is how chatbots and LLMs have completely subsumed what we think of when we consider the concept of “artificial intelligence”

Sounds like a skill issue. I do this shit without ChatGPT every single day
Jimmy Fallon: "And do you use ChatGPT when raising your baby?"

Sam Altman: "I cannot imagine figuring out how to raise a newborn without ChatGPT."

I can think of like two or three recurring guys who only exist to be villains off the top of my head from TNG alone
i don’t really care abt this old vs nu trek debate but this is a v funny thing to say about a franchise which has a literal mirror universe where everyone is Very Evil and also has a moustache
Course those shows had villains. But they were villains that had a degree of dimension and subtlety to them. They weren’t all paint-by-numbers, moustache-twirling, scenery-chewing nutcases with zero motivation for why they are the way they are.

We're half a decade into studies finding that improving airflow in classrooms will reduce disease transmission enormously, and that bleaching surfaces etc. does very little. And yet nothing changes. Waves of flu and colds wash over schools, and the schools pretend it's an act of God.
The relative contribution of close-proximity contacts, shared classroom exposure and indoor air quality to respiratory virus transmission in schools - Nature Communications
The relative importance of close-proximity interactions, shared space and air quality to the transmission of respiratory viruses is not well understood. Here, the authors investigate this question by ...

I said as much in someone’s replies but I think there’s a degree to tech from 10-20 years ago works on physical media and isn’t stuffed with monetization hooks. For example, the PSP as pictured in the image here

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

Saw this like six seconds after I looked at my Checkpoint. Fuck me I guess lol
Guys, do not use the Discord Checkpoint thing (Discord's attempt at Spotify Wrapped).

It requires enabling them access to scrape your data, and has an alarming amount of private data being used for it.

Make sure you have these disabled.

The weirdest thing about this is like: Did they even work together? Or is he just beefing with an actor he doesn’t like but has literally never worked with
I think Quentin Tarantino is such a fucking loser for bullying Paul Dano

And in public? Loser shit
