Yeah, this really stinks. What he did is an automatic three match ban. No exceptions. None.

And now FIFA, the institutionally corrupt ruler of the world game, has suddenly come up with this just for Ronaldo after he met Trump?

It's scandalous.
Cristiano Ronaldo red card: Why has Fifa suspended World Cup ban?
Has Fifa given Cristiano Ronaldo special treatment to get the star player to the 2026 World Cup finals, or have we seen this happen before?

Oddly enough I was thinking about N.E. today. I loved that programme when it came out and I looked to see if I could stream it here in Britain... but it's on Amazon so forget it! 😏

Anyway, challenging indigenous Americans on their legal status is performative discrimination and utterly disgusting🤬

Just rejoin ffs. Tell all the Brexit wankers we can't afford their little Englander cosplaying bullshit.
The UK is losing up to £250m a day in lost tax revenue due to the economic impact of Brexit, House of Commons Library analysis for the Lib Dems suggests.

Brexit has blown a "black hole of [up to] £90 billion a year in the public finances" the party says. Even under lower estimates the hit is ~£65bn

Good news, and no surprise that a Reform politician has sold the country out to Russia.

I'm very cynical about our mainstream media but even they must report this story widely and look into Gill's friends and colleagues as well mustn't they?

I'm catching up with a bunch of old mates this weekend and the timing couldn't be any better. I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling a bit overwhelmed by the state of the world right now and switching off to spend a bit of quality time with really good people is just what I need. 🙂

He's obscene, disgusting, totally without a single redeeming feature. These are strong words for which I'm not proud... but I genuinely hate Trump with a passion.
Holy shit Trump just defended MBS in the killing of Jamal Khashoggi saying he knew nothing about it

Can't help thinking that today is a huge day for Zack & the Green Party. Zack has been doing so much to amplify the policies of the Greens and the difference between them and other parties... and now Labour has come out with the biggest recruitment drive for them.

It's time to take advantage Zack!
The Labour Government reeling off the same far-right talking points on immigration. And look who is celebrating. The far-right.

I know a lot of Labour supporters on here get defensive when anyone is critical of the party, but there have been so many worrying policies over the last year and, well, this tops the lot. What a heartless policy that is being celebrated by all the worst in our society. It's shameful and wrong.
Not everyone is unhappy about the Government's descent into anti-refugee politics

The administration only wants submissive sycophants or authoritarian regimes. There's no such thing as history or honest alliances with them.

We need to remember though, America is so much more than this administration and this cult.

Very interesting article from Claire in West England Bylines about the current and potential future political dynamics in Britain. It's thought provoking and well worth a read.
"The political landscape shows not only that the old duopoly is done but that voters across the political spectrum are now demanding a completely clean slate from government – anything other than the ‘before times’"

For Americans out there, Zack is the new leader of the Green Party here in UK. A refreshingly blunt and fair assessment of Trump I reckon. Well done Zack. 👏🙂

Well said Ed, I wish all the politicians would put the BBC and our country before the likes of Trump. It says so much about the character of those who would bow to the orange tyrant.

BTW the 34 times convicted felon is claiming reputational damage? Laughable and pathetic!
Donald Trump is coming for the BBC and for your wallets.

I urged the Prime Minister to stand up for the 23.8 million licence fee paying households, and tell Trump he won't get a penny.

Davie is one of the main reasons why the BBC is vulnerable. To come out with these comments now, whilst correct, is incredibly hypocritical.

Time to rally behind the BBC and take this opportunity to re-establish it as a bastion of impartiality and serious, determined journalism.
Outgoing BBC DG Tim Davie says the corporation needs to "fight for our journalism". It also needs to fight for its independence. The two are linked. Davie, a former Tory councillor candidate, has inadequately fought for reporting that actually scrutinises rather than simply 'reflects' back opinions.

This is so depressing and infuriating. The flag has been weaponised to intimidate and oppress people, and that is a huge stain on our country.

My heart goes out to all those affected, I just hope they know they're supported and respected by so many of us.

The resignations of Tim Davie and Deborah Turness must be an opportunity for the BBC to turn a new leaf, rebuild trust and resist those like Nigel Farage who want to destroy it

We must stand up for a strong, independent BBC, to stop Trump’s America becoming Farage's Britain.
