Shocked to be in my 83rd year. Lifelong blue voter, though I don't post or comment about politics, just cats, nature, photos, gardens, food. Buddhist, lapsed meditator, but still trying (often failing) to live the teachings of the Dhamma. Go Ducks!
Morning walk. Nice to see the sun shining, far to the south these days. There is a flow of brown sludge (water) flowing into the ponds today. My guess is that they've opened the gates that allow water from the Willamette to flow here, as the rainy season begins.

I have a strange request. If I should for any reason be unable to care for this lovable little rascal, is there anyone here who'd like to adopt him? Current plan is for someone to return him to the shelter, but a known, loving home would be better. See Alt text for more info.

What a cat has to do to get food around here! It’s exhausting and a nap is needed. Quick snap before he had a chance to be irritated by the phone.

When I lived in Brookings there was a trail I walked often, maybe because it was close to home, but it was also magical. Through a forest drenched with sun rays, a meadow, to dripping moss and spectacular views. See Alt text for more.

Believe it or not, he's a happy boy this morning. Or at least he was until I pointed the phone at him. Lounging on my left arm, as usual, stretched across the desk, wondering when I'm going to get the message that it's time for second breakfast.

Previously posted. From 2022, that time I startled this EGRET who was fishing under a footbridge and he flew just a few feet to a low branch where he could keep an eye on me. I couldn't see him, under the bridge. He was huge, and so beautiful. #AlphabetChallenge, #WeekVforVowels

A week or two ago I rooted some grocery store scallions as an experiment. Too stinky to grow inside, I put them in the garden with a makeshift greenhouse. Now, they are firmly rooted and beginning to grow. The sticks on the jug keep it from blowing away.

The band filed past and stopped in front of me. Awhile later The Duck arrived on the motorcycle but my phone chose that moment to decide it needed more light.
