Yeah, sometimes it’s not even about engaging with it but by how sheer exposure can subconsciously keep you in a constantly activated state and alter your perception of your surroundings.

Times are horrible enough, we need all the piece of mind and clarity we can come by.

I do feel like Twitter is uniquely toxic at this point. All social media platforms have the potential to be toxic depending on how we use them and what’s going on at the time, but the level of constant rage bait, normalized cruelty and vitriol does feel unique to that site.

Yeah, that’s what’s difficult about hoping over here.

I did it by intentionally seeking other sources of dopamine outside of Bluesky, because if you just try to use it as a one to one substitute it doesn’t really work.

My mental health got so so much better tho, I do recommend to at least try.

Yo en las navidades con la familia de mi ex en un depa todo frío y oscuro, sin música de fondo y pura conversación tipo "es que las cumbias son de nacos"

Me hubiera ido mejor a un sonidero.

Trans rights, sex worker’s rights and surrogacy rights are intertwined with overall women’s liberation and reproductive rights.

I believe something similar happened globally, to different extents, but within the US specifically it was probably a crucial part on overturning Roe v. Wade: Alliances between radfems (swerfs, terfs & anti-surrogacy) and christian fascists that debilitated the broader feminist movement.

Prior to FEMMVA receiving money from the Heritage Foundation in 2018 or so, they frequently talked about how surrogate pregnancies supposedly undermined the right to abortion. But after they received that money? not a peep about abortion, even tho it was a pivotal fight in Mexico at the time.

I should have phrased it more like "Rental Wombs" but whatever, you get the point.

FEMMVA is dead, afaik, but it’s director and founder, Laura Lecuona, is managing the Women’s Rights Declaration branch for Mexico nowadays.
