My friend Peter and I did a pod on how to buy a gift. Unlike other gift guides, this is not just a list of products, but suggestions on how to approach gifting (although, this clip is basically about a book we love). 🧵

Just finished Number9Dream today, but I forgot to bring one of the other books I'm already reading for my doc appointment later. So I walked across the street to the library and got Never Whistle at Night, which I'm so excited to read, but this is why my reading list never gets shorter. 😂

Well. I put my lunch in the office microwave and the door latch broke, trapping my food inside. Someone call tech support.

As a former Time Magazine Person of the Year (2006), I feel this cheapens my award.

Go for a walk with your siblings in the Arctic wilderness when it’s -30° F (-35° C). Nothing beats it.

You don't have to go to a national park to experience wonders in the American wilderness. In fact, I would suggest, non-national park adventures are better in many ways if you have the bandwidth to do a little planning. Especially this June. If you want suggestions DM me your parameters for a trip.

I wanted to watch the world cup draw, but I had to turn it off when they got to their contrived peace prize because I didn't want my eyes to roll out of my head. Watching one of the most corrupt organizations in the world give a prize to one of the most corrupt men in the world is too much.

The real question is not "Why is Bluesky so left-coded," the real question is "Why can't the right exist in a social media environment without algorithmic assistance, where people can ignore them"

As a teen of the 90s, if you told me UNC would finish the season tied in the standings with FSU and VaTech, I probably would have been happy. 😕

As I was driving to work in the dark, my music app started serving up Gaelic shanties for no discernible reason, but I'm here for it.

A few thoughts during the time out.

1. Wilson has been trying to do too much and it doesn't seem like we are running plays for him.

2. Why aren't we pushing the tempo?

3. A lot of questionable 3s, and they aren't going in.

4. Bad offense leads to bad defense in this game.

The wheels have come off.

Our offense and rebounding were both pretty bad that half. That could be a sign of a rough game ahead, but it also means we could win this thing if we can just clean that up.

I'm old.

If you're not, listen to this.

Get a guitar or some drums, or a trumpet. Pick up a brush, a pencil, some clay or a welder.

Just make shit. It doesn't have to be good (eventually it will be) just make music, art or write or whatever.

It's literally never been more important.

Maybe I’ll tell y’all about Thanksgiving in Uzbekistan, where I was in the peace corps 2000-2001.
I lived in a town; nearest American lived in a qishloq - a true village. A few of us somehow figured out to meet there. (How? No internet, no phones. No recollection of how we planned anything.) 1/
