We’ve all done business with people we could trust and people we couldn’t… people who cared about relationships, and people who took every nickel off the table every time. It’s the same for countries in global affairs, and America has been a relationship driven political actor since the end of WWII.

Social media found a way to monetize outrage, and settled into the business of producing it at scale.
It's important to pay attention to what's happening, but don't waste your energy on the amplified clown show. That's what they want. Save your outrage for the actions truly deserving of it.

Not big on "resolutions," but like the idea of consciously adding and subtracting something from my life at the start of each year.
This year I plan to add more radical acceptance of what is beyond my control, and subtract more social media-fueled outrage. How about you?

Kris Kristofferson - then a broke Army vet making a living by shuttling workers out to oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico - famously landed his helicopter in Johnny Cash's yard, and gave him “Sunday Morning Comin Down.” Johnny sang the song on his primetime TV show, and Kris became a star. (1/4)
