Hundreds of animals have been separated from their owners in the California wildfires. Pasadena Humane is on the front line trying to care for these burned, dehydrated, and scared creatures, please join me in supporting them with whatever you can here: give.pasadenahumane.org/give/654134/...

Sturgill is a star now. He still has the 911.

Greatness recognizes greatness. Goodness does its part to help the next generation along. (4/4)

John Prine, then a legend, heard someone in the studio next to his, and went over to say hi. It was Sturgill Simpson, the two hit it off, and became close friends until Prine’s death in 2020.

He left Sturgill his Porsche 911, as a reminder that life as a songwriter can work out eventually. (3/4)

Years later, Kris was playing in Chicago and heard about a mailman singing great songs at a bar nearby. He went to hear for himself, loved the songs, and connected the artist with his record label. The mailman was John Prine, who became a friend, and then a star. (2/4)

Kris Kristofferson - then a broke Army vet making a living by shuttling workers out to oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico - famously landed his helicopter in Johnny Cash's yard, and gave him “Sunday Morning Comin Down.” Johnny sang the song on his primetime TV show, and Kris became a star. (1/4)

I love ramen on a cold day. Make mine (Shun) with cheese, for a little protein.

Hope do you make yours?

Do yourself a favor... See Living on Netflix before they drop it at the end of the month. It's an English remake of Akira Kurasawa's classic Ikura, and is a profound meditation on how to live your life. Inspiring art, at a time we could all use it.
