Arc Raiders, especially the audio, gives strong "Oblivion" vibes.
And that's a huge compliment.

Bit shocked by how much I don't like AirPods Pro 3. Passive isolation and ANC are fantastic, but comfort and EQ took a step back (mids are too low).
Putting my old APP2 back in my ears feels like a treat, which is not a good sign for the APP3 product.

Another thing to be aware of with the “Deep Blue” is that photos of it, including mine, make it look grey/black. IRL to my eye under the Apple Store lights it has much more color to it, and looks almost violet.
I’ve adjusted this photo in an attempt to reproduce what my eye saw.

The black Ti Air is shockingly beautiful. I was really surprised how much I’m drawn to it now.
Need the cameras though. Otherwise I likely would have gone that way.

Store model anodization on the 17 Pro isn’t holding up well. Going bare aluminum might be the way to go.

17 Pro's design looks like the most function-over-form we've seen from Apple in a while.
Thermals are clearly a priority. Vapor chamber. Glad to see aluminum is back. Apple's foray into titanium never made a lot of sense.
Cramming compute into the bump exposes it to air even in a case. Love this.

You can buy keyboards now that aren't even populated with switches. And the variety of switch types now is crazy. Lots of small batch, "boutique" designs now.
And it goes beyond that too, such as the bottom plate that the keycap strikes. I figured out I like polycarbonate.

2 years ago today I was driving the Nürburgring IRL.
Easily the coolest thing I've ever done. Need to go back.

Upgraded from a Mk3S+ to an H2D. So far: extremely impressed. The amount of tech and complex automation packed into this machine is amazing.
And the speed… it’s bananas.

Made a custom LMP2 livery in Photoshop for Le Mans Ultimate out of my go-to coffee choice.
The back-end distribution infrastructure they've built to make this all work in multiplayer is impressive.

Congrats to Studio 397 on exiting early access as they hit their 1.0 release of Le Mans Ultimate.
Got a chance this weekend to really dig into it, and I'm absolutely loving it.

F1 Movie review: It's good.
Existing F1 fans: go in with an open mind and some suspended disbelief.
Normies: this is "Top Gun: Maverick" on wheels. You'll like it.
Everyone: bring AirPods Pro (for transparency mode). Just in case. Our IMAX showing was blisteringly loud. APP takes the edge off.

Replacing my rig's honeycomb-style fan airflow straighteners with Noctua's "Airflow Amplifier" design.
They released it in .STEP format (vs .stl), which made it easy to upsize from their original 120mm size to 140mm (for their NF-A14's that I use).

Games that haunt me because I want to dig into them so bad but have almost zero time for them, ranked:

I'm hopefully wrong, but:
Eliminating the US de minimis exemption for low-value imports likely destroys what was turning into a wonderful, accessible hobbyist electronics scene.
Probably will upend most DIY electronics repair efforts, as well.

Last time this maniac imposed (much smaller) tariffs he destroyed some of my favorite small tech companies.
I sincerely hope @gomezsimindustries.com can make it through this. Such a wonderful, family-owned-and-operated sim racing hardware company, making top quality products in the US.

Approx. 100 USB sticks scattered throughout my house... and I'm confident that ~60% have some build of MEMTEST86, Win10/11, or Ubuntu on them.
And/or system BIOS binaries for random motherboards.
