Eimear has voted Labour all her life. Presumably because she believes everyone should pay their share.

Labor asks HER to pay her share. 'I'm never voting Labour again!'
Huge respect to the papers for finding both an 88 year old worried about the tax bill on her 6 bedroom Kensington house and a 20 year old fretting about only being able to save £12k a year tax free.
Top work all around. These are not easy case studies to find.

Wow - this guy must be really, REALLY bad with money if an extra £208 per month will “ruin” his retirement.

Let’s take a look at his situation based on what he told the @Telegraph

Because this does NOT add up!

No, this is not a “poor pensioner” scrabbling around for pennies…

Even after the mansion tax is applied, the owner of a £5m home in Westminster will pay proportionately less in property tax than the owner of a £210k Band B property in Sunderland.

Miles no doubt, but watching the Championship and Watford seem to have a player called Loser. Assume they sing him the Beck song???

"The Conservatives propose to deport about 5 per cent of the UK’s legal population"

"the Conservative party increasingly holds positions that are further from mainstream British public opinion than Reform"
Hadn’t, in truth, really absorbed the scale of what the Conservatives are proposing on ILR and immigration more broadly until this week’s Sunday Times interviews. Some thoughts on that in today’s note:
Tory deportation plan would upend Britain
Proposing such a radical bill with little public support is a gift to Nigel Farage

to bang on about too often for fear of being an Arse Bore, but - weird constipation? Get it checked. Bit of blood in your pooh? Get it checked. Unusual abdominal aches? Get it checked. Unexpected weight loss? Get it checked. Bowel cancer is very treatable. Don’t ignore it. Would appreciate retweets.

Disappointed with the number of changes Moyes has made tonight. Was hoping for maybe 3 or 4. Hopefully the players prove him right. Looking forward to seeing Dibbling #efc

Science is woke nonsense
The state of science in the Trump administration.
Trump also just repeated a stream of disproven climate claims to world leaders who govern countries where climate science has not been so politicized and even conservative leaders push for clean energy. It comes less than 24 hours after his numerous false claims about autism.

Yup .
After the M.E.N posted the tragic story about 3 people (2 of them kids), dying in the channel this week - their facebook post was met with three thousand laughing emojis

Comments included "fish gotta eat" & "best news I've heard all week"

Horrendous

If you're laughing about children dying you've lost your humanity
When dead children prompt laughing emojis, the problem isn't just politics - it's something far deeper, writes Rob Williams.

This might be one of the scariest things I've seen for a long while...
Today marks 1 year since the 2024 general election. Here's how our latest MRP projects a new election would go

Reform UK: 271 (+266)
Labour: 178 (-233)
Lib Dems: 81 (+9)
Conservatives: 46 (-75)
SNP: 38 (+29)
Greens: 7 (+3)
Plaid: 7 (+3)
Others: 3 (-2)
