My hope is that you're right, but it's not at all certain. Plenty of things are happening now, like voter purges and local rule changes and possibly the new SAVE Act, that could lead us to that nightmare.

I sure hope you're right because it'll be my ass working the polls when the guns show up.
Control of the House isn't going to come down to a small number of close races; the military seizing ballots would lead to riots in the streets; the "incumbent Republican majority" will be dissolved on January 3rd so it won't be there to do anything.

It's a nightmare in that it's entirely made up.
Over the past three weeks, the "nightmare scenario" for November's midterms has grown more plausible www.vox.com/politics/478...

Big cities do not contain an overwhelming portion of our population.

100 biggest cities are 20% of the population

It is mathematically impossible for cities to control the outcome under the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. North Carolina should join.

Mega-dittos! (That tasted horrible, but it so works.)
To Whom It May Concern.

You can fiercely love this country while completely despising and actively opposing this President, his corrupt regime, and complicit party.

I do, and I'm in the vast majority.

Deal with it.

I seriously think you should include the word "unconstitutional" when reporting on this topic, eh?
States, not the federal government, have the authority to run elections, including maintaining accurate voter rolls. The Trump administration’s aggressive efforts to access voter files is a clear attempt to take that power away.

Truer words have not been spoken...

"As a matter of constitutional law, this is flat-out wrong. But Trump is not interested in following the Constitution. As we have seen before, he prefers to act by force." -Marc Elias, as it pertains to election law

"This" applies to every context.

These labels, like "moderate", are so malleable and so different in the minds of different voters, that they should really be viewed as useless. Certainly, no one should be spluttering these labels as epithets.

A label for Roy that I can get behind, and that clearly differentiates him: Humane.

Agree! These four short pages are a must read!!
Even if you don't have time to read all 83 pages of Judge Reyes's opinion barring the Trump administration from rescinding Temporary Protected Status for 350,000+ Haitians, please at least check out the four-page introduction.

It's a tour de force:

Ian Austin, an Army veteran, was arrested for protesting ICE in Minneapolis. But he’s continued protesting. Senior reporter @julialurie.bsky.social spoke to him.

“When they say, ‘Why would you be out here?’ How the fuck could I not be out here?” he says. “My nation is under attack."

Hello @mnufc.com ,

This seems like a good time for you to publicly pledge that you will never hire Global X, or any of the charter airlines that also transmit abducted people for ICE, to fly your athletes anywhere for any purpose.
60+ CEOs release letter on "recent challenges" creating "tragic loss."

Call for "immediate deescalation of tensions and for state, local and federal officials to work together to find real solutions."

No mention of ICE.

Hitler framed every annexation as “security”: Austria & the Sudetenland to make borders safe, Czechoslovakia as strategic defense, Poland to remove threats. Each seizure was sold as protection & stability. Europe sees what is coming. We need the GOP to see it too, or a lot of people are going to die

No. We don’t need to “modify ICE training.” We need to close DHS. Dismantle it. It’s an outdated expensive bureaucracy that’s been usurped by violent white supremacists. Shut it down.

So should I, at considerably more than 35, be shouting (among other things) "Young man, you should be ashamed of yourself!"

Sheesh, I'm becoming my mother....
ICE seems to get completely flummoxed when they’re being yelled at by white men over 35. They kind of put their heads down and shuffle their feet. It’s like their kryptonite.

This "push" quire obviously has nothing to do with immigration, despite the hateful rhetoric coming from the regime. You must do better reporting. You must improve the accuracy of your content. Your post is a joke. You are putting my sustainer contribution at risk.

Non-border-crossing (i.e. domestic flight) document checks are illegal! Which of you lawyer types will lead the charge to stop this shit?

This.
I’m seeing posts from people (outside of MN) about how US citizens should carry their passports.

And let me say that *inside* MN, we are calmly responding to requests with: “No, I don’t have to show you any documentation.”

Because that’s how you protect everyone, regardless of immigration status.

Members of Congress are way overdue VOTING for impeachment and removal based on MANY past actions.
Members of Congress should be openly stating right now that military action against Greenland will result in impeachment and removal of the President and the Vice President.
