I'm in a band you haven't heard of, and I write code you haven't used.
I subconsciously still associate blue checks with crypto scams and racebait posting from Twitter.

I think Bluesky should've chose a different symbol for verification.

Audio Hijack + Waves Clarity VX voice isolation DAW plugin is awesome at removing wind, traffic noise or background music from noisy interviews, news clips, bad conference audio, etc.

Not sure why I didn't think of this when I started using Clarity in Logic last year.

I don't care if these monstrous ICE raids are a "federal operation". This is authoritarian violence, plain and simple.

Just because Stephen Miller has kidnapping quotas for brown people he doesn't want to see on the street doesn't mean we have to think it's okay.

In 2023 I flew coast-to-coast in the US.

Departing, a TSA agent announced "don't unpack laptops and phones: it's not 2001, our machines can see what they are."

On the trip back, I asked: "Laptops in or out?". The agent said "Sir, a little thing called 9/11 happened, maybe you've heard of it?"

Pierre Poilievre its now free to follow his dream: Being a Trump-licking, MAGA-larping truck driver in Canada. Congratulations.

I know I'm old, because Natalia Lafourcade's new album "Cancionera", released yesterday, is going to be my favorite thing that happens this month.

I have a minifridge beside my desk. When its compressor kicks on, it sounds exactly like a spinning-disk hard drive from the 90s.

Every time I hear it, I think "this file is going to take forever to load." I've only had SSDs for like a decade.

The only thing I've found in Godot so far that'd actually be embarrassing to explain to the uninitiated is that it's impossible to change the target of an AnimationPlayer/AnimationLibrary in the IDE after it's set-up.

This feels like table-stakes. I open them in a text editor, but, you know...

Godot non-hiccup of the day: Jolt Physics in @godotengine.org is so stable you can stack spheres, free one in the middle, and the rest re-stack. Impressive.

Best thing about USB Type-C:

I wonder what my mouse says to the internet when I accidentally try to charge it with my ethernet adapter.

I know a Finder file-browser window and the desktop are the same process. Apple knows a Finder file-browser window and the desktop are the same process.

I don't care: I should be able to command-Q a Finder file-browser window instead of command-W. No one can defend this behavior.

Godot hiccup of the day: Node3D's don't have an "origin" property from which you can anchor rotations, etc.

Not a huge deal, but I ended up with two extra nodes in the scene graph that feel a little superfluous to set a pivot.

Godot hiccup of the day: "Callable.bind()" binds right, not left.

I don't know know why I assumed left-to-right is universal, because it's definitely not.

@godotengine.org is on the same trajectory toward success as @blender.org did, but much faster. Bet on it. I'm old enough to have seen this path more than a few times.

I've been thinking a lot about that bumper sticker which says "everything looks like a conspiracy theory when you don't understand how anything works" and folks it's pretty obvious to me that the people in power right now have absolutely no desire to understand how anything works.

RIP in noise.
From the beginning, the danger hasn't been Trump. He is constitutionally lazy, ignorant, unambitious and just generally not good at things. The danger is from people supposedly in opposition doing fuck all to stop the rest of his coterie, categorically more evil, ambitious and skilled than him.
I have an entire rant with several key points, but the gist is: Send Donald Trump to jail nothing bad will happen. There will be no riots, no demonstrations, nothing that can be done by the system or police or FBI or anyone to stop it. And once it happens, we’ll realize it was never scary.
