Having read Bullet Train, I think the author is just that bad of a writer. Not sure if it’s the same translator, but that book had a lot of the same problems.

I pulled a muscle in a part of my leg that I didn’t know could be pulled simply driving this car. Had to limp around a gas station for 15 mins before I could stand up straight.
