Today we stopped at Pink Elephant Antique Mall’s Twistee Treat diner for lunch in Illinois. Fun, makes a fantastic malt, food was fine. Three year old once again over the moon, this time mostly related to the cup of mayo they served with the burgers (he’s a mayo addict).

Stopped at a whole series of Rt 66 diners on this trip without planning on it, including one in Oklahoma that helped inspire the Cars film. The 3 year old nibbling was thrilled with that one.

Got up early to get a small hike in at the local sedge marsh. The city’s done a great job restoring it. So many plants I don’t see elsewhere! Sadly didn’t see any bald eagles today, though they’re along this stretch of river often.

My niece came over this morning and while she was here she picked out all his food related toys so he could have some food since he wasn’t eating. He keeps going back and laying on the pile. 😭😭😭

Pretty sure this isn't experimental reggae indie pop band Magical Beautiful, but it could be?? They're from Chicago. It's allegedly from 2007 and I used to go to shows in Chicago all the time and people would just hand you demo CDs as you were walking out. But who knows? I have no memory of this.
