one time i wrote a horror fiction story in which toxic masculinity was presented as very literally toxic, and no one got it. but maybe people will get it now that it's many years later and i'm spelling it out in this post? happy belated halloween! kotaku.com/the-only-gir...

This needs more attention: Zohran SPLIT the straights with Cuomo. ALL of his margin was from LGBTQ+ voters. Every Dem who ever said “we should abandon the transes” needs this shoved down their fucking throat with a ramrod.

Good morning! I'm in Uganda to visit family and friends.

But depending on your perspective, don't worry or I'm sorry: I'll be back by the end of the month.

See you soon, NYC.

teen vogue's EIC leaving (concurrent with its politics desk/writers being laid off) feels like a pretty relevant piece of info, too, given that her stated core interests (and background) in this interview from earlier this year were: politics! huge loss whitmanwire.com/news/2025/05...
Q&A with Versha Sharma, Editor-in-Chief of Teen Vogue
The Wire Can you first tell me a little bit about your background as a journalist, how did you get here? How did you become editor in chief of Teen Vogue?    Versha Sharma I studied political science ...

De Blasio: ‘Well, Well, Well, Not So Easy To Find A Mayor That Doesn’t Suck Shit, Huh?’

once again, yep. if you're going to be any good as a professional critic, you need to consume a variety of games in high volume, which means you need access to codes, which means you need to work somewhere that can get the codes and distribute them in a logical way, and so on and so forth
I'll also be honest. When I stepped back initially, I couldn't afford new video games even if I wanted to write independently about them. Being attached to a site that could get codes saves hundreds of dollars and facilitates discussions from lower income critics.
October 27, 2025 at 3:39 PM
yep. if you don't have enough working games critics (regardless of medium -- podcasting, writing, whatever) then there aren't enough people to play a high enough volume of games for anything approaching true curation. obviously you can never have perfect curation, it's impossible. but it's worse now
Even as someone who listens to gaming podcasts, it feels like so many titles this year I’ve heard nothing about—even those I expected to get a passing mention at minimum. Weird is the right word to me too.

it's weird to me that the Snake Eater remake just came and went with almost zero discourse. that's been happening a lot

anyone who thinks this is recent and that there was a point in time at which maher "used to be funny" or "used to punch down" or whatever should listen to @oldmanweldon.bsky.social's podcast I Hate Bill Maher

maybe after the AI bubble pops and the economy crashes from that, people will remember that they like to read. of course they won't have the money to pay for writing but by then the water wars will be underway so we'll be using a barter system of some kind, therefore money will be irrelevant

this happened to all of us weekly columnists unfortunately! so you'll see less of me there but i'll try to make that monthly column real special <3
my contributor gig at endless mode is drastically changing in november, going from a weekly piece to a monthly one. as such, i’m available to take on more freelance work. i got experience with reporting, criticism, evergreen stuff, consulting, and anything in between.

i need @chasingamyadams.bsky.social to have a patreon so i can give them my measly five bucks or whatever but mostly because the obvious bonus content is all of amy’s TV appearances, as the podcast main feed is only movies. do it! the fans (me) need this!!!
