Rest in power ✊🏼❤️alice wong, your work and strength has forever changed me for the better.
Our beloved Alice Wong has joined the ancestors. It was one of the great honors of my life to call Alice my friend, co-author & co-conspirator. She was a true genius, a force of nature the likes of which the world has never seen before. I love you, Alice, and am equal parts grateful and devastated

Dear AI edtech companies— instead stripping the creativity and authenticity needed in my job, can I just have smaller class sizes?

I have yet to see a use case for AI in the classroom that wouldn't also be addressed by smaller class sizes & more paid prep time for teachers.

if you’ve talked to me recently, you would hear about my experience listening to The Perfectionist’s Guide to Losing Control — and how instead balancing time, we need to learn how to balance our energy ⏰

I had so much fun sharing and learning! Feel free to keep the conversation going so that we have all our smart #teacherhacks in one place!

#T2Tchat #edusky
Thanks so much for joining #T2Tchat – and a huge shoutout to our moderator, @michellelogarithms.bsky.social!

A8: Don’t be afraid to try new things and to figure out the #teacherhack that works for you!

#T2Tchat #edusky
Q8. What’s one message you’ve gotten from a fellow educator that you still resonate with? #T2Tchat #EduSky
October 16, 2025 at 11:53 PM
A7: Journal writing at start of class – a prompt related to current events, the day's lesson, or reflection about team work and participation in class. Then I ask students to share with their team mates and they often find points of similarity and connect on that.

#T2Tchat #edusky #teacherhacks
Q7. Idea exchange! What’s one routine, lesson or activity that consistently helps students build relationships with each other? #T2Tchat #EduSky
October 16, 2025 at 11:48 PM
A6: Highlight SPECIFIC ways that students were “smart” that day, in front of their peers– maybe they asked a really great question or drew a picture to solve a problem. Either way, verbal praise really motivates my students to keep up the momentum in the future!

#T2Tchat #edusky #teacherhacks
Q6. Share one tip for motivating and engaging your students! #T2Tchat #EduSky
October 16, 2025 at 11:38 PM
A5: I take a moment to check in with the class and share my honest thoughts – “hey – this isn’t going as I planned. How is everyone feeling?” this usually helps me gauge whether students are confused about the directions or about the content.

#T2Tchat #edusky #teacherhack
Q5. When a lesson isn’t going as planned, how do you pivot? #T2Tchat #EduSky
October 16, 2025 at 11:32 PM
A4: At the start of the school year, my classes and I come up with ideas on what participating in teams “looks like” and “sounds like” – and we revisit them during Participation Quizzes. More info here!

A3: verbal feedback in the form of “assess and advance” – find out where students are and help them move forward without doing the thinking for them!

#T2Tchat #edusky #teacherhack
Q3. Fill in the blank: My go-to strategy for giving students feedback during a lesson is ______. #T2Tchat #EduSky
October 16, 2025 at 11:15 PM
A2: I try to bring geometry to life by doing at least one real-life modeling project each semester. This semester, I had students modeling where to put a food co-op using geometric constructions after learning about food deserts!

#T2Tchat #Edusky #teacherhack
Q2. Share one way you bring your subject matter to life for your students! #T2Tchat #EduSky
October 16, 2025 at 11:09 PM
A1: Reduced phone use - but standing at the door to greet students each day while reminding them to put phones in a phone box. Overall, students have a lot more awareness of their own phone use and understand it’s about collective accountability!

#T2Tchat #EduSky
Q1. What’s something that’s been working well in your classroom this year? #T2Tchat #EduSky
October 16, 2025 at 11:02 PM
