I’m finding it increasingly hard to report anything delivered by “official sources” in the US. Could be true, could be a coverup, could be completely made up for nefarious ends.

I don't think it's good for public safety that unidentified masked men just show up and start terrorizing people, and I don't think that masked men who do so should feel safe in public.
Masked men wearing ICE vests—but who refused to present a warrant or identify themselves—roped off a construction site, trapping two men on a roof for hours in subzero temps. Protesters gathered. As a person with PTSD from witnessing a shooting murder: News outlets *autoplaying* mass shooting footage on social media without CWs are doing so much harm. We have consumed so violent content that’s deeply corrosive to the brain. It’s our responsibility to ensure we disseminate it appropriately.

As of June 2024, WaPo estimated that, since 1999, over 300,000 kids in the United States have been impacted by gun violence at school. Not even counting the untold millions exposed to our ambient level of societal gun violence each year.
