Agreed. Many think the backlash is mainly a response to programs “going too far” (untrue IMO). Maybe if they went too far they would be more resilient against bad actors..

Why aren’t we investing more in the production of “good” and “generalizable” data? Even more so why is a big part of our training and early career focused on the consumption and analysis of existing data (for those who are able to signal productivity through papers) instead of creating new info?

As I was leaving I saw out of the corner of my eye former CDC director Robert Redfield out of the corner of my eye.
I figured I had to go see if he's speak with me. And he did:

Like where is the media training 😭😭? In my view all you had to say was you take the issue very seriously and you’re going to put real efforts and resources into making parents feel safe and make the platform safer.
Instead we got “I wanted to come in here to talk about fun stuff”
