early morning contact naps with a three week old might be one of the best things

most mornings from around 5am I lie with him on the sofa while reading and it feels very precious

and it feels great that I can give his mother another round of much deeper sleep for 2-3 hours

the world I grew up in, the one that felt like home to me, is gone

if I am to gift my son a world that feels like home to him, I must first grieve the loss of mine

I had a single espresso at 3pm thinking it wouldn’t affect my sleep and I am disheartened to report that this is not the case

For those that need to hear it:

Trying to reduce muscle tension is cultivating a new kind of subtle tension–I.e. tensing against tension.

Letting tension go also means letting it be. Much of it is there for good reason, and will release (or not) of its own accord.

I'm not particularly worried about people being one-shotted by the 6D mesoamerican demon when taking ayahuasca

I'm much more worried about people already having been one-shotted by the 2D infinite scroll demon in their hands that lets them avoid feeling uncomfortable on demand

okay, I'm going to spend the next five days subsisting largely on extremely bitter ghee

wish me luck

This hospital has a roof “garden!”

say hello to Delhi on a day of comparatively much less pollution

so the oscillation of the stream of fluid my forehead is extremely interesting

it seems to trigger some perceptual shift that I haven’t figured out yet

but I had moments of tension releasing in my body along with sudden awareness of certain childhood memories

not strong, but definitely there
today I had hot medicated buttermilk poured on my forehead and scalp (Takradhara) and then I had hot medicated tea poured all over my body (Parishek)

now I have medicated pastes and leaves sitting in the backs of my knees (Upnaha)

how is your day going?

I forgot that jet lag insomnia kicks in on the SECOND night going east

I got cocky

so this Pancharkarma (three ish weeks of Ayurvedic treatment in a hospital in a Delhi suburb) might end up being one of the weirdest things I’ve ever done

at least it will occupy a place in a certain dimension of weird that is rarely accessed, if not being the actual One Weirdest Thing

hello!

if you are feeling overstimulated—anxious, tense, distracted—it's easy to get stuck in a loop where you just get more overstimulated.

If that's you right now, I'd invite you to stop scrolling, turn off the podcast, put your phone down and remove inputs for 30 mins

see how you feel!

I am FASCINATED to understand how bluesky got memed into these beliefs about ‘tpot’
oh shit oh fuck hes on to us

attention all tpot users. activate warplan CYBELE. awaken the sleepers
4/Now that Dorsey has bailed as a board member and principal funder, Bluesky’s DNA is basically TPOT people. Who is going to win in that scenario? I don’t know, but I’m not putting money on the users. The most recent funding came from Blockchain Capital LLC...

I’m noticing that people are following me, which is lovely and thank you — but I’m not posting as much as I would think necessary to get followers

is there a way to see if I’m on a starter pack, or is it a thing you only know if you’re told?

as I approach 37 I’m realising that one’s 30s are for paying close attention to how one’s body is likely to fall apart if not corrected, and then to be diligent about not letting it fall apart in those specific ways

I dig this article on the practice of friendship by @tasshin.com! A lot of these things came naturally to me, but as I get older and priorities change, I realise I haven't been prioritising friendships as much as I could've been. Got some work to do! tasshin.com/blog/the-pra...
