Lots of talk about storage supporting the grid — now we’re seeing real projects do it and avoid costly infrastructure upgrades. We partnered with White Pine Renewables and PG&E on two #battery projects that relieve overloaded distribution lines and maximize revenue.

Again, i know folks who’ve been on calls with the admin about this, and their entire plan is get massive gas plants running within 6-12mo. They genuinely cannot understand why that doesn’t work, or why shutting down wind (which the eagles thing basically will) is a problem
Electricity costs are going to be the biggest topic of the 2026 election I think. There’s going to be a big push to get democrats to complain about big utilities price gouging even though they’re largely regulated and we need them to build a ton. I’m begging just blame Trump please.

Very cool @openstreetmap.bsky.social project to map the remaining 30% of the world's high-voltage transmission system from Open Energy Transition. And also... the next 100% of the grid as it builds out in coming decades! #EnergySky #OpenData

The natural gas industry is utterly unprepared to meet our critical energy needs. They will, however, happily take their pound of flesh up & down the supply chain while the getting is good.

This interview is a wild confession of as much: www.projectfinance.law/publications...

NEW | Solar is now California’s #1 electricity source ☀️

Over the past 12 months (to April), solar generated more electricity than any other source in California — surpassing gas for the first time in history.

Rapid solar + battery deployment will keep this trend going 🔋⚡️

Why do global fossil CO2 emissions continue to rise?

In simple aggregated terms: economic growth (orange) is too strong to be overcome by improvements in energy efficiency & structural change (green), & CO2 intensity of energy use (blue).

The uncomfortable truth for leftists is that a lot of low-carbon climate progress is being driven by elites who aren’t under pressure from mass movements.

The uncomfortable truth for elite climate wonks is that those gains won’t be enough to stabilize the climate. We still need mass green politics.

DA energy is becoming a bigger part of the revenue stack for #energystorage operators in ERCOT. In January, DA energy accounted for 26% of total storage revenue in ERCOT, up from just 9% in 2024.

But DA comes with increased risk.

How are operators managing this risk - or not?

What makes ceanothus so striking are its blue blossoms.. plants cannot directly make blue pigments, but make flowers blue by shifting the pH of other pigments, which is energetically costly. Blue flowers are relatively rare.
