Congressman Joaquin Castro visited 5-year-old Liam (from Minnesota) in a detention center in Texas. There are other young children there as well. Detention has negative effects. We should not hold young children in detention facilities.
I just visited Liam and his father. I also met with countless more children and families who have done nothing wrong and should not be detained.

The filing deadline is April 6 for the primary on June 23, and if there's a remotely progressive town council member or PTA president in that district, this is the time to make a move.
