When I was a junior in college, "The Future's So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades" was the song everyone in my tech school was singing.
By the time I graduated the following year, the markets had crashed and there were no jobs waiting for my graduation.

Y'know, I've never seen that movie but I (mostly) live by that credo. I'd miss some of my stuff and replace it when I could, but if I went to the grocery store and a tornado destroyed my place and everything in it, I'd shrug, collect the insurance, and rebuild.
(This will change when I get a pet.)
