Sadly, there's always prejudice in rural communities (all communities, of course). They managed to ferret out that my grandpa was Indian when my parents moved to their farm in the 80s and it wasn't till 30 years later that my mum finally told me about all the horrible comments she got. #TheArchers

My 80-year-old father was despatched to my niece's primary school this afternoon to watch her in her nativity play. He'd never been before and didn't realise he was at the back of the building, with a locked gate. So he just climbed over it and walked round the front. #RetiredFarmer

This is why I love #TheArchers so much. I don't think anything else does long-form storytelling this well (or at all!).
I also think George has something about him. Even when he was very small. Neil articulated it quite well when he said he loved him, but couldn’t always like him and couldn’t put his finger on why exactly.
I do love this SL, so long in the making and so thought provoking.

It's perfectly possible to think George is a terrible person and also feel sorry for him. He's ultimately responsible for his actions but he's also a product of his environment. He needs support but he has to do the work himself. #TheArchers
