Well, what do you know, it’s called “Narrative String Theory.” I always called it the “Wall of Crazy”, and someday hope to shoot a video showing how time consuming it is going out and buying supplies, printing and photocopying etc. instead of just using a laptop.

Narrative String Theory — The Vault of Culture
An ongoing series, initially appearing on tumblr, collecting all known appearances of “narrative string theory” (string walls, walls and floors littered with paperwork by obsessives, etc.).

Ever notice that in discovered lost or ancient civilizations, art is always one of the last remaining things that withstands the passage of time?

I’ll be taking a printmaking course in October. Looking forward to trying something new and hoping it will spark new ideas.

Wow, 30 years ago I made this cartoon. Time sure zips by. Wish I had the 35mm print so I could make a proper HD copy of it:

If I were in charge, all tech companies would have to comply with Dieter Rams 10 Principles of Good Design. Fail just one of those principles, back to the drawing board. No excuses. Especially #6: Good design is honest.

Oh, I missed #makeaterriblecomicday2025 yesterday, so I'm posting one I made last year before I was on bsky:

I wonder how the conversation went when Peter Thiel decided to name his company Palantir. “I want to serve the Dark Lord Sauron and bring about the end times.” Something like that, maybe?

I made a scratch-built steampunk submarine. This was a fun little project and a challenge to find parts that fit together. Took me two days just to figure out how to keep the propeller anchored on.

This is great!
Seems a good day to send the badges around again. I made these, & I grant permission to use them anywhere, print or digital, to affirm you did NOT use AI in the part or whole to create your work. YES you can use it for books, slideshows, TTRPGs, etc! Badge set here: www.aimeecozza.com/human-made/

For Star Wars Day, this is the first “concept art” book I bought in 1977. It launched my desire to work in movies so I could draw spaceships and robots for a living. I showed it to my career councillor in college, asked how I could work in this field. “I have no idea” he said.

I’m a craftsperson/printmaker inspired by odd historical structures. I’m usually to be found lurking around in abandoned and unsavoury buildings with a camera and a sketchbook. My work is mostly drypoint and mixed media drawings. I’m also partial to airships…

As a reaction to the terrifying venture capitol extremism, technological feudalism and just general fascist idiocracy, I'm just going to post drawings, mostly made with my weapon of choice, my 1992 Rotring 0.9mm mechanical pencil with blue leads. My happy place.
