Actually yeah, I'm also reminded that this is eerily similar to the kind of messaging trump ran on in 2016. The "I'll be a different politician because the current ones are corrupt". It's blatantly populist, so Americans have clearly learned absolutely fucking nothing.

And to this point: I'm seen liberals, American liberals, starting to use the term "virtue signaling" in a way that's remarkably similar to the way fascists did. So some of you really, really need to take a step back and rethink your beliefs and values. The abyss might be starting to stare back.

But to focus on the anime: it's bittersweet in tone, but I've heard is quite good. It does deal with serious topics though and depicts them, Crunchyroll's good enough to at least put a content warning on it (which is absolutely the correct decision). Or trigger warning, to put it in other terms.
Was not expecting Takopi's Original Sin to get dubbed, wow. But I'm also well aware it's a very depressing show, and doesn't pull its punches either. Though the first episode reminds me of just how hopelessly pathetic Japanese culture is towards mental health; because they frown on divorce.

Speaking as someone who's worked with Capcom, stays in touch with its people, and has, shall we say, professional room to maneuver, I'll just say that contrary to what the technical director in the IGN article asserts, I know for a *fact* many Capcom employees are VEHEMENTLY against this direction.
