I look at the crosswalk on Gottingen and Charles one block from primary school and drivers are brutal bullies .

Actually we need red light signals activated by pedestrians, with cameras.

I understand, I just think we need to avoid terms like "jaywalking" and "illegal" for actions that are totally prescribed, and forced by the unsafe infrastructure and driver behaviour- some place i actually find crossing away from MVA defined Crossings easier

What do you mean illegally?

they are too busy trying to occupy the vacuum in the centre-right created by Carney moving the Liberals to the right of it.

it's absolutely the same 😉

btw this is not the first such disconnection i have witnessed in last year, and someone will get injured because of these. The only reason i noticed is because i used it prior to sunrise and didn't see lights on the other side- during daytime this is not noticeable since flashers are towards drivers

totally believable.

you mean like this:

"You can't blame drivers for breaking law because you forced them to slow down and keep other road users safer"

bsky.app/profile/mean...
"they also make the road network more unsafe by slowing down traffic and frustrating drivers"

wow!

like the governor of Maine saying "WE are not like that" when every county in Maine bordering Canada voted for Trump.

mine is multiple voices inside so also clearly not a monologue
November 26, 2025 at 12:57 AM
that i know, but justifying it because we ask them to slow down is pretty impressive.

in my days we blamed it on the victims, now it's because the poor drivers were forced to by Woke engineers.

True (also the medias). But even in a city with better communication, Montreal, I found many people did not understand the second, and to me more important, feature on visibility.
November 25, 2025 at 10:43 PM
or they prevent you getting out from the extremely common car jumps off bridge into water.
November 25, 2025 at 10:40 PM
to be fair to me when they do they don't only get "wow!" as my reaction. 😉
November 25, 2025 at 10:04 PM
"they also make the road network more unsafe by slowing down traffic and frustrating drivers"

wow!

interesting to see cyclists not realising that bump-outs are not for them, but to keep pedestrian safer:

-Shorter crossing, AND
-More visibility as when i enter the road i am not hidden by a parked car
