The Working Family Party and Democratic Socialists of America are literally other parties, that's the point. But with first past the post elections even *they* understand that it's the Democratic party or nothing if they want to be competitive on a national stage. 😉

I think there's an exception that proves the rule:

You can only safely vote third party in an open primary for the Dems.

That's one of the lessons from Mamdani's NYC victory where the WFP and DSA each played a part in forming a winning coalition.

This is actually really good. I find myself thinking about that Mo Seider price and quality of competition a lot. Plus I think it's fair to say there's enough evidence that GMs are valuing a player signed now that they know given the way free agency has so dramatically dried up in recent years.
