Making a proper pinned post that I can put stuff under! See this thread for book cover redesigns I do for fun, stuff I've written, and whatever else feels pin-able:
I'm very sleepy and irritable, and I'm even more irritable because a book I have had on hold at the library for like a year that I am really looking forward to reading just came in and I really want to read it but I'm too sleepy! Damn it!

As a woman in my thirties, I'm going to confirm that you don't need to get plastic surgery. For example, I never got lip filler, but now my lips are enormous because I accidentally whipped myself in the mouth with the buckle of my seat belt 10 minutes ago, and I look terrible!

Fuck it, going to say something adjacent to drama that's actually about like fifteen other annoyances of mine and not even the recent thing: if you're going to say something is implied in The Vampire Chronicles, you better cite your source or say you are doing a non antithetical interpretive reading

You should use specific language in general. It's more useful. So often people are talking about two completely different things and therefore having two completely different conversations, and arbitrating the definitions of words instead of talking about things that have any meaning.

You can read at least five significantly different versions of Interview with the Vampire if you limit yourself to ones written by Anne Rice (and visit Tulane), I'm realizing. Short story, original ending, published version, Louis is a woman screenplay, Louis is a man screenplay. Very interesting.

Remember all that stuff about vague language in the content guidelines? "Glorification," "Grooming," "Bullying," surely these are all terms that are always used in the best faith and not by right wing morality panics.

Like seriously, the things you THINK you mean by these matter, but not the words.

Having introvert lunch because my nose is running and I look horrible when I eat because of it. Great idea! A girl I went to all of kindergarten through senior year of high school with who I didn't recognize in the elevator yesterday until she pointed me out is ONE TABLE OVER. AMAZING.

I love the phrasing here.

People never talk about how Anne Rice was slightly obsessed with Haiti. I stumbled on a whole rabbit hole about this the other day while I was trying to do something much more specific, and it is a hyper fixation that appears in her work, but I didn't think about it until I saw it outside the books.

I was feeling kind of terrible (emotionally) all day, and couldn't really think of what could make me feel better about it?

Anyway, I hope one day you get to read the rough draft of your favorite scene in your favorite book too.

Chicken korma? That's not for humans, that's for dogs. A dog has informed me of this today. Unfortunately, I am not giving dairy to this canine, I just cleaned the floors.

One of my issues with the Talamasca dialogue is that it's vulgar. I am not opposed to vulgar, I delight in the fucking glorious orgy of vulgarity that is the core of wit in the English language, but sometimes people mistake "vulgar" for "clever" and it's like, ugh. Put your dick away!

Okay, need to get a running start on this crochet gift, so... Talamasca.... ew....

56 granny squares, 2.5 weeks. Can I do it? I better!

Lovely friend (who recently watched the show for the first time, turning me into Gollum, in fact) brought me vampire gifts this weekend! Bookmarks are from a con, pin is from Pride. 🥰

I need something better to put pins on- I don't carry a bag except to work, my jackets aren't really for that...

Not that anyone on here would disagree, but 100% of the time, the moment I hear the word "demonic" or "demons" used unironically I stop listening and completely discount anything that person has said up to that point. It is never, and has never, not been an extremist spiral talking point.

I meticulously cleaned the rug. I cleaned the dog. I hear the extremely specific sounds... of the dog, drying her fur... on the rug...

Listen I know people go to other sites to see fandom drama... but tbh no fandom nonsense has actually been funnier to me, ever, than the Freeloading Leech Incident, which was 100% home grown organic iwtvsky.

I think I need to limit my ambitions, because I probably removed two entire dog's worth of dog hairs and an apocalypse of dust from the rugs, and if I keep going I will become more hive than human! God it'll be so nice that it's clean once I STOP. SNEEZING.

The new rug rake I got is 100/10, great.

I have a severe dust allergy. I dusted my dusty-ass bedroom. You would think, why does she let her bedroom get dusty if she has a severe dust allergy? Because the dust on surfaces rarely BILLOWS INTO A CLOUD TOWARDS MY FACE RUINING MY ENTIRE DAY UNLESS I'M DUSTING ARGHHH

I'm used to working at companies with high turnover, and now I work at a company where half my department has been there 20+ years, and I feel insane when I am made aware of office rituals that assume you are still working?? With the same people?? This holiday season as last year???
November 17, 2025 at 8:15 PM
There is a rug in my bedroom that is 80% doghair by volume. 18% is dust. Vacuums tremble before it, you have to rake it, with a rake. Every time I rake it I think, "ah, yes, this will help my severe dust mite allergy!" without remembering that the rake flings dust directly up my nose and eyes

Honestly I have an encyclopedic knowledge of fuck-ass bad takes on Interview with the Vampire. It would amaze you! I can even predict the next sentence of a bad take after reading the first one. It's a terrible skill, I do hate it. Not all takes are fuck-ass, but many are, and predictable.
November 17, 2025 at 4:36 PM
I have PMDD and am also upset about things. Are they valid things? Guess I'll know in a few days! Good god I hate this.
