The Prime Minister says he changed the Labour Party.

He's right. He changed it from a party of principle, workers and peace, to a party of patronage, the establishment and war.

Poverty, corruption and complicity in genocide. That will be his government's legacy.

It's great all these judges are ruling against the acts of Trump and his minions, but until someone senior is jailed for contempt for ignoring them, it don't mean shit.
U.S. District Court Judge Michael Simon: “In a well-functioning constitutional democratic republic, free speech, courageous newsgathering, and nonviolent protest are all permitted, respected, and even celebrated. In an authoritarian regime, that is not the case. Our nation is now at a crossroads."

A federal judge in Oregon has temporarily limited federal officers’ use of force on peaceful protesters outside the Immigration and Customs Enforcement building in Portland. The ruling blocks federal officers from directing or using munitions such as pepper balls and tear gas.

Worse still, Brown, as Chancellor, extended PFI across public services, a kind of stealthy part-privatisation of everything, bringing financial corruption & private interest into the very heart of government. He did far more damage to the public realm than Mandelson ever achieved. So hold the halo.

Grodon Brown is being widely portrayed as a saintly patriarch betrayed by his greedy servant. But he was utterly complicit in the erosion of democracy to favour corporate interests, that became a hallmark of the New Labour years. He appointed Mandelson for this very purpose.

Sorry James, but this is just nonsense. Mandelson freelanced in disgraceful and obnoxious ways. But his role in Gordon Brown's government was to pursue similarly undemocratic and destructive policies, just without the obvious corruption. See bsky.app/profile/geor...
More integrity in his little finger than his detractors have displayed in entire careers.

Your water bills are going up, again.

Why? Because private companies think you should pay the price for their negligence and greed.

It’s time to end the privatisation rip-off and bring water back into public ownership, now!

They make untold billions.

Heard similar on Radio 4 this morning. Was really, really odd. Talking about accusations of fraud involving Somalis. Not sure what - at all - had to do with ICE shooting a woman did.

Felt like classic 'some say it's rainy outside, others say it's sunny' faux impartiality
Why’s BBC R6 news explicitly highlighting ethnicity of local Minneapolis councillor talking about woman shot by ICE? Can’t see any reason his Somali heritage is relevant. Same time repeats trump lies re ‘self-defence’ despite footage showing otherwise. Another eg @petergeoghegan.bsky.social
