Now just imagine if they did that for all of the pharmaceutical drugs for everybody.
The US government said it negotiated a 71% discount on Novo Nordisk’s blockbuster Ozempic and Wegovy drugs for patients in Medicare, the federal health insurance program for the elderly. bloom.bg/3K6carj

Not that anyone asked, but my big takeaway from that Curb episode meeting of Trump and Zohran yesterday is that the Lina Khan-Zohran Mamdani affordability first, working class style of politics is clearly the future of left politics in America, and that scares the smiles out of Donald Trump.

Tonight, the Department of Homeland Security announced that on Tuesday they detained 14 of our neighbors on immigration charges. What they initially reported as a targeted criminal enforcement action was in fact an identity-based raid on people who had done nothing but show up for work that day.

NEW: After seeing @smith.senate.gov post here on @bsky.app condemning the federal government's de facto ban on hemp-derived THC, I reached out to her press office for an interview. We spoke briefly by phone this morning. Here's how it went:
An inside look at Congress' hemp-derived THC death sentence
The Fingers Interview with Senator Tina Smith on how opponents "snuck" the ban into law, shady brands' "bullshit" products, and the industry's paths to redemption

Our office is on site as the situation continues to evolve. There is a visible ICE presence, but we continue to be told this not a widespread immigration raid. We are working with community and government partners to monitor and ensure any action remains within the scope of a valid warrant.

The state of Minnesota civil servant I called with a personal issue today answered on the third ring, had a clear and concise explanation for my problem, recommended a simple course of action, and informed me that if it didn’t work to call back next week to escalate. She was empathetic and funny.

I am really furious about this.
The federal deal to end the shutdown will make hemp-derived THC products in Minnesota essentially illegal, jeopardizing over 5,000 licensed businesses and $200 million a year.

This is a reckless interference into Minnesota's marketplace and Congress needs to fix it before irreparable harm is done.

If I was a Democrat in a state with a large THC beverage distribution market, I would be saying things like "Donald Trump and his Republican friends want to make doing weed illegal again."

Dua Lipa (?) has a book club (??) and it is so incredibly smart and joyful to listen to (??!?!?!!!) Like what isn't she capable of? She interviews Percival Everett and David Szalay and reads some phenomenal books. It's remarkable.
