Do UK pundits get the same disease as the U.S., where we hear ‘working class’ but the words ‘white male’ are present but unpronounced whenever they say it?

whoa there, are you expecting Republicans to understand free markets and the economy of scale? That sounds like socialism, bud, and the best option is to force tens of millions of individuals to negotiate solo without economy of scale

Then why do we need laws enforcing it?

lol see I have a positive view of teenagers! You can sit down and have a pretty advanced conversation with a 16 year old if they are locked in

But at the same time they can turn around and be mentally 12 years old the next minute

I find it fascinating (when it’s not aggravating!)

Yeah I feel like anyone who has worked with teenagers while in their early 20s actually knows pretty well the difference between themselves and a 16 year old actually.

I’m particularly proud of this one though people keep making the opposite claim

The force of national and local governments in

-massively subsidizing cars
-mandating large lots & homes
-prohibiting dense building

Seems to make this ‘revealed’ preference less obvious

That doesn’t really explain a self destructive immigration policy though!

In theory a Westminster majority is much more powerful than on in a system like the the U.S., and yet

That's what makes it so frustrating as an outsider. Starmer has the majority we dream of, and THIS is what he's doing with it?!?!

Being a Dem loyalist I was inclined to defend Labour too but it’s looking more and more like this is the case

Though, ‘try to make people’s lives better’ had sort of mixed outcomes electorally so maybe Starmer is spooked.

Whether I like it or not, I’m dealing with auto emissions, I’m dealing with potential sudden car related death, I’m paying for roads, etc. So if I choose to avail myself of the positives of car ownership, that doesn’t reveal my preference so much as my limited options
