Either: “the earth, in its natural uncultivated state, was, and ever would have continued to be, the COMMON PROPERTY OF THE HUMAN RACE.”

Or

“There are such things in the world as human rights…universal, and indestructible. Among these, is the right of locomotion; the right of migration”

The Trump/MTG split is reminiscent of Russia, where many of Putin’s most prominent opponents are in fact people who are mad that he’s a different kind of fascist than they are

“Putin’s War”
"Why do you like that people are dying?"
"Well, I don't even know. It's just funny. Hilarious."

Russian student says he has a positive attitude toward the war in Ukraine because he likes it when Ukrainian and Russian soldiers die, and he finds it "funny."

Does prison abolition necessarily mean abolishing jails? I think you need jail for acute situations but I’m open to alternatives to prison

Notably, 'save the children!' has been a sort of get out of free card. Trump doesn't have to outperform Democrats as long as you assume all Dems are pedophiles. The Epstein files are damaging even if they don't incriminate him, because he needs the possibility open that they incriminate others
The diff btwn Epstein any of the other six dozen things Trump has done this about is that Child Predation and CSAM in general -- and Epstein in particular -- have been the motivating issue for the most rabid elements of his base since before the escalator. This *pre-dates* Trump for them.
"When Donald Trump is guilty as sin on something he insists that whatever is out there that you might have thought was incriminating is actually the work of Obama, Hillary and James Comey. And that is literally what he is doing."

No single thesis has ever been so vindicated as 'they like Trump and want him to win'
About the same time the NYT sat on a scoop tying Trump to Epstein, Maggie Haberman was downright giddy (y'all) about NYT promoting an anti-Hillary Clinton book.

I'm not saying you have to hand it to Al Qaeda, right, but, choosing my words carefully - I don't think fighting with Al Qaeda following the illegal American invasion of Iraq is precisely the same thing, morally, as being a 9/11 hijacker

I'd say there's a 1/3 chance Larry Summers crashes out and retires from public life after these emails, a 1/3 chance he is investigated and convicted of money laundering or something, and a 1/3 chance he weathers it with no worse a reputation than he has today
