I love seeing BTS like this bc it comes from a piece of art where you're like "How did he do that??" to watching carefully over the process and going "Ooooooh, so that's how he did that" and unlocking some new knowledge for yourself that makes art seem less impossible

This looks amazing. Good for China!
"Yao-Chinese Folktales" Season 2 is coming on January 1, 2026 in China.
9 new animated short films by various directors, produced by Shanghai Animation Film Studio, and inspired by traditional myths & legends from China.

Oldie, done on #remarkable2 with some PS filter.

Still like the “ugly pixel” look.

[overthinking hat on]

Maybe instead of using digital drawing apps to pretend we are using real life brushes, it would be nice to try making some art that looks unapologetically *digital*. Here are some super quick tests, dunno, is this anything?

Most writers spend weeks perfecting their pitch but bomb in the first 30 seconds of every meeting. Here's the one thing you should prepare for that nobody talks about. 🧵⤵️

It’s been a while, so here’s a quick #Scriptsky #Screenwriting 🧵 on STAKES.

You often hear folks say some version, “If your protagonist doesn’t care about their problem, there’s no way the audience will care about it.” This is true, but it’s not the stakes sin I often see: manufactured stakes…

People sometimes ask me how I animate cameras —
I wish I could say there’s a master plan, but I improvise as I go.
Tweaking the FOV helps shape what the viewer sees — more of the world, or a close-up.
From outside the camera, the scene’s usually a mess (*ノ▽ノ)

I love the absolute lack of engagement of this app. It drives me to the real world and away from social media 🤟🏼

Sketched Hellboy in pencil for my nephew then made the major mistake of NOT using watercolors but Copics, which turned everything super dark and unusable (d’oh!). To try to save it I inked it and sorta played around with the curves in Photoshop. Oh well 😆

Still learned a bunch of stuff I think!

Weapon X, in Black and White and oversized. The pages’ definition is not great, but good enough to enjoy BWS’s gorgeous ink strokes.

If you are interested in screenwriting, this thread contains lots of gold
Thanks to all the folks who reposted my last #Scriptsky #Screenwriting thread. Very much appreciated! I thought I’d do another one about STORY. This one takes what I learned on The Office (and a bunch of other shows I’ve worked on) and combines it with how we break story on Big City Greens…
