I spent a lot of time to also do a lot of narrative design and actually themed the itch page this time around. Very happy with the end result and what we did in ~48h.

Anyways, here is it in action, used the Gobot model from GDQuest to test it out as I still had it on my hand. Love how flexible the combination is. Outline is done in post processing with a quad attached to the camera using sobel. Models all share the same material but have different settings.

You cant imagine how much pain it was to "just" have outlines. Its honestly a miracle but I also do understand what I did. 4 weeks ago I opened this can of worms and thought to myself "Edgedetection cant be hard".

Lack of documentation be like "Hold my beer". Honestly. Godot Shader docs are rough.

Rare post of project progress. This is maybe not a lot to you but I managed to implement custom costs for navigation that I can switch through depending on the pedestrian AI state (such as panicked etc). But for a more visual thing, I made ragdolls and we all know ragdolls = funny.

Everything works again and i finally have a working scaling 3d arrow. Gonna replace it eventually with an antenna but for now this will do. Im actually not sure if I ever showed this game before.

There is still so much to do in this prototype(audio, NPC AI, proper particles etc.) but it feels good.

Hey mutuals, I got apparently a false positive on discord and my account is oopsie daisy gone. I talked about how the new twitch policy change initially caused the huge backlash for the LGBTQ community and how they updated it after the backlash. Welp. Trying to resolve it now. I have no hopes tho.

Today I went to the #gcmuc barcamp. Was also my first barcamp, but it was an incredible experience. So many great people, I learned a lot and simply enjoyed the good company. I can just recommend it to anyone. I'll for sure return next year.

This is so confusing to me haha. I know all the UE devs are screaming right now, but I have no idea how to make this a) look nicer and b) if there was even a better way 😅

Been stuck since yesterday on implementing a general purpose interaction system in UE5. Blueprints are so tough to wrap my head around and for me too abstract. Some simple operations are split up into multiple smaller nodes. I was stuck trying to figure out how to implement and interface haha.

Networking works successfully! That was incredibly tough but I am super happy this all works async as well with threads. Ill continue implementing the details and functionalities, once that is done ill start working on the actual game.
