What more can be said about a regime that goes out of it's way to exceed even hyperbole? It's evil, it's wrong, it does not care. Though I gravely hope we can use our institutions and laws to oust this regime, I also am not naive enough to believe necessary reform will happen.

Can I copy your home work meme featuring a square copying an albatrosses homework of making a flightless pelagic lineage of bird. Square names theirs penguins but albatross renamed theirs penguins resulting in a CSI Miami esque shades meme of the albatross declaring they skewered a skua (a phonetically terrible attempt at a punne or play on words). This is derived from the fact that the penguins lineage who shares a closest relation to albatrosses, are older than the auk lineage that shares a most common ancestry with Skuas. But penguins acquired their name from auks via northern sailors who called auks penguins before they knew penguins existed.....

Every time we have to argue for WIC or SNAP I just lose my mind a little more. I just fundamentally don't agree that people should have to work to eat and it feels ridiculous to have to argue with people who think our labor matters more than our lives and wellness.

Means testing inevitably costs more money than it saves eliminating "fraud", and denies people who should be eligible due to bureaucratic issues, misfiled forms, errors, etc.

Same goes for drug testing, where 9 times out of 10, a spouse/relative has a stake in the no-bid contracted testing company.

Anyway, SNAP should be universal. Just like school lunches in NYC. Not everyone needs it to survive but everybody gets it, no means testing.

There should also be a lot fewer regulations on what you can buy with SNAP and discounts, not bans, on hot prepared foods.

I think what a lot of people chaffe against when it comes to a universal safety net (whether that's health, education, income, food, housing) is....who do you punish and castigate as lay abouts when everyone is afforded comfortable living standards as a right.
