I'd say our American schools are letting our kids down, but I'm pretty sure she was a boomer.

And the idiots who thought Charlie Kirk was "a man of Faith" will cheer this on... Because they don't know that refugees are legal immigrants to our country.

I'll never understand the bullheadedness of conservatives who only care about their own offspring and lack the ability to see the whole picture. The strength of our nation is dependent on the health and well-being of its people.

Moving away from military readiness... We also need our nation's children to grow up to become tomorrow's workforce, thinkers and leaders. It's in our best interest for ALL CHILDREN! to be well fed, healthy and educated.

At the very least, it matters because those kids will grow up to be taxpayers.

Another issue for recruiters was candidates who lacked a HS diploma or equivalent...

Children who are hungry have a harder time succeeding in school. Hunger affects focus, memory, mood, and motor skills... Things a soldier needs.

Numerous studies show that poor physical condition has greatly reduced the military recruitment pool. In 2024, 77% of Americans 17-24 wouldn't qualify for military service w/out a waiver. The majority because they lack physical fitness or have issues with their mental or physical health (like ADHD.)

When our children are malnourished... they become adults with chronic health issues, stunted height and poor bone density.

Look at folks who grew up during the Depression and WWII: Their teeth didn't fall out because they ate too much candy, instead malnutrition damaged their tooth enamel & gums.
