Old metalware and 16thC material culture. Boreray sheep, Border Terriers, hay, logs & Land Rovers. Cricket, mainly Derbyshire these days.
Always had a soft spot for Zimbabwe cricket. Today is a golden day, giants humbled. #AUSvZIM #T20I #T20WorldCup #Cricket

Now and then I consider replacing the old Land Rover with an Ineos Grenadier. Then I remember who owns Ineos. Today is the day I resolve never to own a Grenadier.

Without naming your job, tell us something you say over and over again at work.

"Aye, too many sheep, they'll have to be culled."

*Never culls sheep*
*Many more lambs born*
*Buys more sheep anyway*
Without naming your job, tell us something you say over and over again at work.

"In English, please."

"Sorry, but it's late 19th century, a common thing and not worth much."

>"But Granny said it belonged to Walter Raleigh."

"Nope, sorry."

>"You don't know anything, you're trying it on."

*SIGH*

This article is misinformed. The piss pot in question is made of pewter. It was not a luxury item. They were made and used in vast numbers. Thousands survive: so many that their value as antiques/curios is almost nil. A significant portion are 17th century. www.cornwalllive.com/news/cornwal...
Rare 17th century captain's pot to pee in found in wreck off Cornwall
The 'special and exciting find' is one of only six of its kind in the whole world

If you’re over 30, quote this with some life advice 🤌🏼

Pick up the nearest book. Turn to page 42 and post the second sentence.

"For most of Tudor England, only the field grown peas were known - left on the plant until they had naturally dried and then cooked in thick stews such as pease pottage."

"Hence these cases could be said to support the view that an offer of a unilateral contract can be withdrawn after part-performance by the offeree."

[An annoying sentence, why?]

'Still, despite the obvious advantage of combining distributional, telemetry, and tracer data sets, empirical and statistical studies that do so remain rare in the literature.’

Now given up on this test match. And pretty much given up on England as a test team for the time being. Only so much embarassing shambles one can take. #Ashes

Moronic batting from Jamie Smith. Barely a brain cell to go round between Smith, Brook, Bethell, Duckett and Crawley. #Ashes

TMS debating what's gone wrong with the insight of toddlers. Agnew, it seems, hasn't looked at the English domestic cricket schedule since about 2010. #Ashes

A few years back the consistency with which England found themselves 3 down in the first few overs led to a rejection of conventional test cricket batting. Enter Bazball. Now, in the first innings in which they've consciously eschewed Bazball, they are 3 down in the first few overs. #Ashes #FFS

A reminder that there is a serious and enjoyable cricket test match being played by two fine teams. Compare and contrast with the absurd nonsense in Perth.
