Understanding, interpreting and explanation seems to be my niche, historically around digital electronic and software systems. I need a better picture of myself.

"Coffee for the things I can control, red wine for those I can't."

Just overheard this in a leadership course going on in the background. A common meme apparently.

But what do I consume to be given the wisdom to know the difference?

I’m learning as I go that Google do watermark their AI generated video, audio and text. They call it Synth ID.

Ignore the click bait title of the video. The spider like walking is a trivial sideshow. This is an interesting discussion of the risks of AI whether it is real or we just believe it is truthful.

Flag this to your lawmakers and politicians. We need legislation now.

> "There has already been real-world harm – from misinformation to targeted harassment and financial scams – enabled by deepfakes that spread before people have a chance to realize what’s happening."

For many scenarios, the realism of AI-generated faces, voices & full-body perfs is now high enough to reliably fool nonexpert viewers.

And the volume of deepfakes has grown explosively—from ~500K online deepfakes in 2023 to about 8 million in 2025, with annual growth nearing 900%.

No pay wall.
Deepfakes leveled up in 2025 – here’s what’s coming next
After a year of fast advances, deepfakes are entering a new era defined by real-time interaction with people.

My first ever computer was a Casio FX-3600P programmable calculator. It learnt that programming was essentially about data in memory (accumulator X + 6x FP registers), sequences of operations (38 steps) on that data, and having conditional branches (X>0, X<=M) to modify the sequence of operations.

I don’t know why but I’m enjoying the use of the word “omniracial” here. Possibly because it sounds like something a city with a global outlook should aspire to.

“One is the reception at the Labour Party Irish Society reception.
